    Hi, I’m Shana!

     

    I’m a devout Yogi, Wellness Coach, Hypno Counselor, Herbalist, Bliss Junkie, Pooch Lover, Amateur Alchemist, Astrologer, Mompreneur and creator of “Ahh” Therapy: Doable plans and strategies for hormonal health, nutrition and stress-free living.

    Healing health is my passion but I wasn’t always in line with my path. Here’s a tablespoon of my story….

    How I found my way to health…

    First it was a fervent interest in food that started when I was a little girl. Learning (and loving) to cook led to eventually working in the food business and, many years later, owning a restaurant that focused on farm to table food with an adjacent organic juice and smoothie bar.

    Being around this high-quality produce prompted more interest in gardening and medicinal herbs. I became fascinated with food as health, “you-are-what you- eat”. Teaching classes on detoxes, cleanses, raw foods, and juicing came next. At the same time, life took me down a spiritual path, paving the way for massage, yoga and reiki certifications.

    But it wasn’t all kale and beans, rainbows and roses. I also have been down THAT road (many of you gals might relate to THAT road) In college, I suffered from severe body image issues and lack of self love. My daily diet was absent of any nutritional value, consisting most days of Snapple ice tea and small bags of potato chips. This made me grossly underweight. lethargic and super unhealthy. But even more than that, I just didn’t like myself or my life. Which lead to bouts of depression and anxiety….It got bad…  

     

    That phase did not last forever, thank God.

    And, luckily, there was a silver lining. What emerged from that low point was an intent to connect to my spiritual side, and the innate understanding that our bodies are our temples; a balance of feeding ourselves wholesome foods and feeding ourselves restorative mental & emotional pursuits for a total integration of inner and outer wellbeing.

    These days, I am an advanced registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance, a Licensed Body Worker, a trained Herbalist, a Reiki Practitioner and Pulse Electro-Magnetic Field Therapist. I have also studied Functional and Integrative nutrition at the Institute of Integrated Nutrition (IIN), am a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and a Certified Hypno-counselor with National Guild of Hypnotists.

    Using all of these modalities I have shaped a therapeutic coaching method called “Ahh” therapy, which calls upon the wisdom of alchemy to marry and heal the Mind-Body-Soul trinity that lies within each of us:

    I am so passionate about what I do and have been blessed with a career in health and wellness for nearly 12 years now. I work one on one with clients but also lead groups events and workshops.

    Today, I still get so excited about food and health, self-care, wellness, and spiritual connections. I hope all of my wisdom and experience from years of study can be used to help guide YOU to excitement, knowledge and success in your own endeavors, in both your inner and outer journeys towards health.
