On Friday 3/18, at 3:17 am EST, the Full Worm Moon will light up the heavens. This expression- Worm Moon- refers to earthworms coming out of hibernation as earth’s soil starts to warm and soften. Now is the time when earthworms start to irrigate the soil, create tiny mounds of crumbling soil here and there, and come up more and more to the surface, becoming, every once in a while, a delightful treat for a robin or sparrow.
During the full moon, the sun and the moon are aligned on the opposite sides of the earth and the sun fully illuminates the surface of the moon. We get to see the whole enchilada: the moon in her glory. It’s a time to celebrate, a time to harvest the “seeds” metaphorically or literally that we have sown this past month, and a time illuminate any areas of our life that might be hiding out in the darkness. The full moon is a super-attractor: meaning- whatever you are feeling will be 200% accentuated during this moon phase. Feeling crazy? Well, get ready for more cra-cray. Feeling amorous? Here comes more mojo! Feeling sad? You better grab those tissues! The full moon amplifies EVERYTHING. And this is why it’s such a great time to take inventory and release anything that no longer serves you or that pulls you back and that ties you down. Because there will be MORE of that energy moving forward if you don’t let it go now. Imagine the Full moon like a gigantic flash light or magnifying glass or even magnet. Use it to take a look at the “closets” in your life; those areas you don’t always go into, where things are hiding, piled-up, festering and stagnant. This is a time to release and let go. Anything and everything not serving you. Anything and everything that is toxic and hurtful to your life. Anything and everything that is holding you back. Doing this allows you to move forward lighter, more abundant, and more energized.
The sign of Virgo is symbolized as the young female virgin. I like to think of Virgo as the little sister of brothers Leo and Libra. (Just so you understand why I am placing genders to these signs: they are long term attributes that are universally associate with astrology and the elements. Leo and Libra are classically fire and air elements, which symbolize the yang or more extroverted, masculine energy. Virgo is an earth element sign, which with the water element, represents a yin, more introverted and feminine energy.
We can see Leo as being the oldest big brother, larger than life, star of the show, super fiery character, who is very warm and inviting. He makes everyone feel special in his presence. He is shining bright but if you get close to him, you will too!
We can see Libra, another older brother who is this super sophisticated, polished, intelligent and a natural leader. He is a great at bringing large groups of people together to work out disagreements and to get along in harmony. One thing these two have in common: they love the lime light.
Enter stage right: little sister Virgo, who is demure, patient, sweet, pretty and wholesome, who is a dynamite at organizing, creating wealth, and helping others. But don’t piss her off. This sign does not mince words and will tell you exactly what she thinks. She’s had to be a straight shooter her whole life, growing up besides these two show boats. Whereas the rest of us would be tongue-tied and in awe of Leo’s magnetism and Libra’s charm, Virgo sees through the glitz and glamor. If they ever get out of control, with a snap of her fingers, she can bring those boys quickly in line. She doesn’t have time for their songs and dance because she’s ready to rock and roll! “Let’s get the show on the road boys!”
Virgos are also very meticulous: they like order and cleanliness; they don’t tolerate a lot of clutter. They’re disciplined and motivated. Because they are extremely prudent and honest they tend to be good decisions makers. Which puts a lot of pressure on them, because people often ask them for advice. They are also perfectionists and don’t like to be wrong. This can get them into trouble at times, as they are always fastidiously striving which tends to leave them with control issues. Don’t lie to them because they are very honest and have zero tolerance.
The life lesson for Virgo energy is learning that perfection in life is in the here and now. Stepping back, letting go, and appreciating each moment, as a unique and precious gift. Herein lies life’s perfection…
There’s also this really wide-eyed curiosity and almost childlike exuberance for life that Virgos possess. They love beauty, which is why they like to keep things so tidy and clean; they need a sense of purity in their homes. This purity also adds to their sense of integrity and the desire to care for those around them.
What does this mean for the full moon?
Let’s look at the big picture: The Full Worm Moon ushers in the time of renewal and rebirth time of year; literally things are springing up from the ground below us! Spring is in the earth, in the air and everywhere around us! We are on the verge of Aries season – which shakes things up and makes things happen almost immediately, or as we say here- in a NY minute. Add in the full moon which also shakes things up, accentuates our emotions and thoughts, and turns the light on, so we can see everything we are neglecting. This moon urges us to release it what doesn’t serve us and then, amplifies everything we are still holding onto.
The Sign of Virgo reigning over this Full moon this month is a celebration of all those areas in our lives of richness and depth in our lives, particularly if they fall into the categories of: organization, motivation, cleanliness, purity, finances and honesty.
Watch the need for perfection and release the need to control. Take spring’s lead: no one can control the season of spring. One day its hot and 80, and the next its cold, wet, and 48. Plants come up wherever they feel fit, regardless of our wishes.
Keep your attention on your own garden, don’t worry about anyone else’s. Maintain, weed and fertilize. Tend to that which you have planted and nurtured. With your best efforts, allow those seeds to grow. You will create beauty and wonder that will inspire and motivate others. And, always remember, everything you need will come to you in the perfect timing….

Our thoughts are a function of our brain. Some thoughts are good and useful to us, and some are not. WE are the LISTENER of our thoughts. I know this is a bit confusing but here’s the deal -we hear our thoughts. We are our consciousness – we are our soul- we are our inner knowing but we are not our thoughts – they are only a function of our brain.

Word of the year: FLOW
2022 taught me a lot. It was tougher than I thought it would be , wasn’t it?? After all we’d been through in 2020 & 2021 most of us thought 2022 would be a walk in the park. But honestly- I don’t know anyone who felt that was.
The world was maybe only very slightly calmer- at least from my perspective- but my inner landscape was vexed. Things came up , situations changed, and topsy -turvy feelings became the norm. And this was the universal sentiment that seemed to rock our worlds- both outer and inner but mostly the former.
There were some larger energetic shifts that impacted us all, but, regardless of that, we all felt the awareness that there was still work to be done. This made me realize: sometimes things happen at their own speed, in their own due time. I am not in control, even as much as I wish I was, or as much as I try working hard to be. I can’t force anything- life can change and impact us -on a macro or micro scale – at any moment. It just is what it is….
And now I truly get that. My son having difficulties has really shown me how we can’t force things to happen. He is going at his own pace, not one imposed upon by me. He is doing the best he can. All I can do is pray, set intentions and ask for help when I need it. BUT I can’t force him on any level to go any faster to do any “better” even though my WILL, my ego might want him to.I need to be in the FLOW. The flow of my outer life and unexpected circumstances that may arise, as well as my inner life- flowing with my feelings, thoughts, passions and purpose- as well as my shadow side.

‘You Must Believe In Spring…’
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom” Anais Nin. The Cycle begins again… Birth. Emergence. Becoming. Newness. Freshness. Blooming. Budding. Moving. Ascending.
For many decades now, I have come to live in harmony with natures seasonal changes and create rituals around them. I suppose my interest started at first as a child because I was always very observant to nature and what was happening in my outside world. Now, even the years that I am not quite as attentive, I still feel a buzzing in my body come late March that continues through to June. To me this sensation is spring….
….Think of the sort of “anger” one has when playing a sport, or the “anger” one has when playing a game, or the burning sensation that one might feel when a highly valued project or endeavor hits an avalanche of an obstacle. It’s the sensation of being so alive and so on fire that only a blood curdling cry can truly demonstrate the depth (like the NZ Maori’s war dance, the Haka). It’s that kind of anger that runs rampant during these spring months. If this anger is felt and understood and then, most importantly, let go of, it is useful in allowing us to forge ahead. It gives us resilience and strength despite our possible uphill battles. However, if this anger is nurtured and feed, it can become a noose around our necks and follow us everywhere we go. Not relinquishing its hold can poison even the most tender of moments, even the sweetest of relationships…..
Surrender, Surrender But Don’t Give Yourself Away…
We both started to panic. I was probably the weaker swimmer, but my friend was a bit further out then I. She started to yell for me,” Can you come and help me?!?” As I looked back, I realized I was using all my strength just to stay put, my heart started racing and I started to panic, as she clearly was as well.
I yelled to her to just go with the tide and I would try and get help… We both were literally in over our heads.
